Planned & Estate Giving
Leave a Lasting Legacy for Future Generations
The Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation Legacy Society honors individuals who share our commitment to helping children and young people thrive, both today and for generations to come.
Through legacy giving, you can ensure that students in our community continue to receive critical support, including food, clothing, school supplies, scholarships, and educational opportunities. By including the NWFCU Foundation in your estate plans, you create a lasting impact that reflects your values and belief in the power of opportunity.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
If you are age 70½ or older, you may donate all or a portion of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) directly from your IRA to the NWFCU Foundation through a Qualified Charitable Distribution. QCDs can satisfy your RMD requirement while potentially reducing your taxable income.
Bequests
A bequest allows you to include the NWFCU Foundation in your will or living trust. You may choose to leave a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after providing for loved ones.
Beneficiary Designations
You can name the NWFCU Foundation as a beneficiary of retirement accounts, life insurance policies, or other financial assets. This simple designation can have a profound impact on students in need.
Trusts and Other Planned Gifts
Including the Foundation as a beneficiary in a charitable trust or other planned giving arrangement allows you to align your financial planning with your philanthropic goals while supporting long‑term community change.
