At the NWFCU Foundation, we believe that every school and nonprofit dedicated to helping youth has the potential to be a hero in the lives of its students. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce The N.E.E.D.S. Project — an exciting initiative designed to break down barriers, ignite dreams, and empower schools and organizations to address their students’ unmet needs!
What is The N.E.E.D.S. Project?
Whether it’s providing after-school programs, supplying essential resources, funding new initiatives, or creating life-changing experiences for their students, we are here to help make a lasting impact. To celebrate Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation’s 20th Anniversary, the Foundation will fulfill 20 unmet N.E.E.D.S. in 2025.
What We’re Looking For:
- Creative Unmet Needs that other nonprofits are not addressing
- Specifics—provide as much detail as possible about your unmet need
- Your WHY? Why should we choose your school or organization?
- Impact—How will fulfilling this need make a real and lasting difference?
- Immediate Need—A project that can be fulfilled in 2025
How to Apply
Applying is simple. Tell us about your unmet need. Share how it will transform lives. Be creative and tell us your WHY story. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with early submissions having the best chance of being selected.
Schools and organizations within a 7-mile radius of a NWFCU Branch can apply for support to turn their dreams into reality.
How It Works:
- Identify Your Unmet Need: Think about the challenges your students face. What’s holding them back from reaching their full potential? Whether it’s a lack of resources, an opportunity gap, or an innovative program idea, we want to help! Maybe your students could benefit from a haircut day, access to professional attire, library enhancements, or perhaps a field trip to a college would inspire them. Think big! Share your story with as much detail as possible so we can understand the impact we can make.
- Apply for Support: Submit your application to the NWFCU Foundation, outlining your school’s unmet need and how our support can make a difference. You may apply more than once with different needs.
- Become an Awardee: If selected, your school or nonprofit will receive the resources and support needed to turn your challenge into an opportunity. Together, we will create a brighter future for your students and share your story with the community, inspiring more positive change.

Rules:
- Eligibility: Awardees must be a school, after-school center, or nonprofit focused on youth education or resources located within a 7-mile radius of a Northwest branch. Applicants must be authorized school or nonprofit representatives. Special consideration will be given to projects that benefit the free and reduced meal population and students on their journey to financial security.
- Requested N.E.E.D.S: Should be under $2,500.
